The Rohingya Crisis

The Rohingya are an ethnic minority that originate in the Rakhine state of Myanmar. For decades, the minority group has been discriminated against and denied citizenship. Violent attacks against the Rohingya have occurred multiple times in history, however, the most deadly and impactful incursion occurred in August of 2017 when the Myanmar army burned down villages prompting Rohingyas to flee for their lives and cross the border to Bangladesh.
